Best day evar

Yesterday was a day where things came together like I’ve never seen them for my 5yo and I really thought she just might explode.

It started with Science club, she made a candy trebuchet and was so proud. Then we went to a party with a friend of hers who got moved classes in her school and it was the best thing ever. Then we went trunk or treating and it was the best thing ever.

Then we got home and she lost her first tooth and it was the best thing ever.

Then her friend B-Smo flew in from Texas (randomly,) and I thought she was going to explode.

Then as part of fostering a dog a little puppy showed up. This was also the best thing ever.

Holy crap that kid was 900% past amped when bedtime was an hour gone already. Visions of tooth fairies coming, puppies, candy, cookies, friends, bam.

I’ve never had that much of a competition against sleep, even with a 5yo who hates sleep. Finally had to sit down and scratch her back while playing some Ben Folds and singing along with the 62% of the words I remember.

It was absurd. I mean, the party was planned, the trunk or treating was planned, puppy, friend from out of town, tooth, nope.

Today she wanted to claim she was sick so she could hang out with the puppy, but she’s got a field trip, trick or treating, and it’s flippin’ Halloween, and a puppy to come home to…  and a dollar gold coin that is also the best…thing…ever…
