the IT city, the I.T. Baby

Maggie’s 7th full day and we’re late to school

What it feels like when your server crashesWe were a few minutes later than usual getting out the door today, which would have been perfectly fine and gotten Maggie in before any issues popped up but Nashville traffic decided to rear its ugly head and take a 14 minute commute to school and turn it into a 40 minute hell ride.

After we finally managed to crawl past the wreck with traffic stretching about half a mile we got parked and ran in to be greeted with a “you’re late” sign in sheet we were required to fill out before I could get her to class.

We were way down the list of people who were late and this delayed us an additional minute or so as we were obviously not the only people who had been stuck in the traffic.

It seems like when there’s a known half mile of traffic backed up due to a wreck they’d have a process where they said to get your kid in and no late sign in required. But no.

Not a fan. Also not going to leave 30 minutes earlier and sit in the parking lot sweltering to ensure we’re not late.

Annoyed. More so because I just sat in traffic for infinity.
