“No, there is another…”
As theITbaby has continued to expand we’ve had our share of author turnover, burnout, and a restrictive age range with Maggie that bars entry into the older kid products, and the newborn products we’ve been done with nearly two years now.
While my half sister Liz has begun blogging for us with her younger baby, it occurred to me with Star Wars Episode VII coming out this year and Star Wars Day (May the 4th,) just a little over a month away that perhaps we should bring on a younger author while respecting that the Star Wars franchise was no longer in Lucas’s control.
Rather than going with the well-explored and played out light side of the force (which Maggie is still mastering,) we’re going to bring on Maggie’s SITHter in time for the next Star Wars. This way we’ll have one of each: Jedi, Sith.
While we don’t have a name picked out just yet, we’re considering naming her after Emperor Palpatine (the emperor of the Sith,) as there aren’t too many dark side women whose names ring a bell for me. She also looks a lot like Palpatine in the preview pics.Palpatina has a heart-fluttering connotation while still bringing the right amount of Star Wars geekery to the table.
Maggie’s Sithter is expected to be blogging before the movie’s release although we don’t expect she’ll be on a product release schedule or caught up with the preexisting Lucas-controlled Star Wars Universe until sometime in 2016. You never know though.
We’ve also considered that maybe Palpatine has too many negative connotations, so going by the other pictures we might go simply with Death Star King. While the Death Star was destroyed a couple of times, this was an engineering and security problem brought on by not listening to technicians who wanted more time for testing and thermal exhaust vent protection.
Perhaps Empiria? Storm Pooper? Darth Diaperous? Imperial Walker King? Ah well, got a bit to come up with a name.
