Munchkin Mighty Grip Spill-Proof Cup review

Munchkin 2 Pack Mighty Grip Spill-Proof Cup, 10 Ounce, Green/OrangeWe purchased a two-pack of the Munchkin Mighty Grip Spill-Proof Cups after having the unfortunate run-in with some leaking pieces of garbage we picked up at Sam’s Club. Maggie, a 19-month old now, took to them immediately.

The interesting thing about these is she seems to drink a little slower and there’s no noise of air being sucked in. I’m not sure if this is by design or just happens to be what’s going on with her drinking style these days.

The cups are easy to use, seem to take a chewing pretty well, but replacement spouts are evidently hard to come by based on reviews and looking for replacement spouts.

Evidently, much like the Nuby brands we have loved and now despise, Munchkin seems to be playing fast and loose with changing the designs from what I can gather. As of December 2014, the ones they’re selling are the ones I’m reviewing. If you’re looking for reviews two years from now beware that cup manufacturers evidently tend to go with the lowest bidder, so check for fresher reviews.

The cups are easy to wash, and for my baby seems to be the perfect cup. People with heavy chewers claim these cups are a nightmare though, so if you’ve got a hamster in training you might want to consider another brand.

The suction required on these is slightly higher than the Nuby brand we’re familiar with. At least with us this means Maggie would not have liked it until about 15 months when she got pretty decent at cup drinking and straw-sipping. Your baby’s mileage will of course vary.

I never found a better deal than two for $10.69, if you do drop me a line and let me know and I’ll update the link.

But if you’re looking for a pretty decent no-spill cup that seems to work, at least pre-chewed, the Munchkin Mighty Grip Spill-Proof Cup seems to work very well. Even dropping it you’re not going to lose more than a drop or two on a new bottle.

A two-pack of the Munchkin Mighty Grip Spill-Proof Cup is available on Amazon for $10.69.
