Want a cheap GMO-free baby snack? Pirate’s Booty has some options
A while back Kim purchased some sort of baby snack puffs that looked, smelled, and tasted like fairly lame Cheetos. Maggie loved them and they were from a name we supposedly could trust, however upon looking at the ingredients we discovered there was very little difference between them and adult snack food equivalents except we were paying through the nose for the word “baby” in the name.
After going to Costco we realized that the Pirate’s Booty they’re carrying was pretty much the same ingredients, is listed as GMO free (on the bag and by a separate agency,) and we could get 16 or so ounces of it for less than the price of a 1.4 ounce package of the baby-branded competition that supposedly does use GMOs. Whether that’s still true or not I don’t know, the GMO debates have been raging since last decade on the search engine results.

Pirate’s Booty also claims it’s trans-fat and gluten free, and if your baby doesn’t like it it’s a pretty decent snack for you that you’ve invested very little in.
I’ll point out this is snacking food. I’m comparing it to snacking food for babies. Neither an adult snack food or baby snack food should be thought of as anything but a snack. So remember as a primary source of nutrition this stuff isn’t it, but for snack times and to give your baby some flavor when you’re giving them otherwise tasteless healthy mush, it’s a nice treat.
Also remember if you give your kids any kind of snack food you’re probably a bad person according to the internet so keep that in mind.
You can get a huge bag of Pirate’s Booty that’s labeled GMO Free at Costco for less than $6, it’ll last an adult a week of hardcore snacking, and will last a baby about a week because you’re probably going to be eating it too most likely.
If you’re not a Costco member you can pick ’em up for about $0.96 an ounce at Amazon. Seriously though, find this at a store if you’re considering it, you’ll save some money. There are currently no brands on Amazon of Pirate’s Booty listed as the GMO free versions.
