Switching the comments over to Disqus
I’ve actually received more emails on theITbaby than we’ve seen comments come through, and one of the main issues so far has been that posting a comment on theITbaby was sort of a pain in the ass.
Well, hopefully after today it will be easier. I’ve got the Disqus plugin up and running and it’s going through as I type and moving all of our massive comments database up to the Disqus servers.
What this should mean is you can choose to leave a comment simply by connecting a Google+, Facebook, or Twitter profile at the click of a button rather than having to sign up, defeat the captcha monster, and grab the sword of truth.
Who knows… we’ll see if it works, if it doesn’t we’ll chuck it to the curb.
Feel free to try it on this post, see if it works or doesn’t. If it doesn’t, feel free to use the contact us form and fill it out or toss an email.
Old comments should start appearing at some point soon. Disqus claims the import can take up to 24 hours depending on how big of a load they have before me. With 158 comments I would hope we’d get bumped to the head of the line.
