Britax B-Agile, B-Agile Double and BOB Motion strollers recalled
I’d mentioned in one of our most visited posts on the Britax B-Agile Stroller review that I’d almost had my fingers taken off by the hinge a couple of times, but evidently that’s actually happened to some other parents as the Britax B-Agile, B-Agile Double, and BOB Motion strollers have been recalled for amputation hazards according to the Center for Product Safety Commission’s website.
This recall does not include the Britax 2014 B-Agile Stroller. You can stop reading if you’re worried about that one.
The current list of known injuries on the CPSC site numbers eight, although my little bruise isn’t among them, and includes one partial fingertip amputation, one broken finger, and severe lacerations.
The recall involves strollers sold from March 2011 through June 2013 with the model numbers U341763, U341764, U341782 and U341783 for the B-Agile strollers; U361818 or U361819 for the B-Agile Double strollers; and U391820, U391821 and U391822 for the BOB Motion strollers.
Currently there’s a hinge cover repair kit for the strollers that you can get from the BritaxUSA or Bob Gear sites. It appears it involves sticking a guard on the hinges to keep your fingers from slipping in and getting cut off.
So anyway, if you value your fingers and have an affected stroller, go ahead and grab that repair kit. It’s free, although you might have to call up and ask for it, and your stroller is worthless until the kit is applied as you’re not legally allowed to sell a safety recalled item last I checked.

This does not pertain to the 2014 Britax B-Agile stroller with the metal showing on the front.
