On Starting Solids (Or ‘mushes’, really)

If you would have told me 6 months ago I’d be super stoked about the idea of feeding my daughter I might have looked at you like you had 2 heads. I’m not sure who is more excited – me or poor Baby M who looks longingly at ITdaddy and I’s forks every time we eat in front of her. Food lovin’ runs in the family.

Maybe it’s because of my deep rooted disappointment in how poorly breast-feeding went for me, but I am on fire to start pureeing up some organic squash and sweet potatoes. I only half jokingly informed ITdaddy Mag’s would be eating Whole  Foods finest produce while we ate the subpar conventional’s from Kroger. I am making up on lost nutritional land *here!

(*sort of, I realize my daughters bulk nutrition will be made up of bottles for the next few months, no lectures please)

Our pediatrician appointment is not for another 2 weeks, but I am ready to be given the go ahead. I bought a Hamilton Beach 8 Cup Blender, Sprout Organic Brown Rice Cereal, Earth’s Best Organic Oatmeal Cereal, 2 ice trays and was gifted some adorable tiny baby spoons.

My cheap food processor!

I’ve got my recipes and amazing pinterest board full of whimsy and idea’s. Look out Maggie – your mommy has an inferiority complex and a major love of the kitchen! I’ve printed this great chart to track which foods we’ve tried and you like/don’t like as well!

But, no, seriously – my pinterest board has so many amazing idea’s like using your leftover breast milk storage bags to store baby food ice cubes for daycare/travel and more! Go look!
