Can you reuse a Milkscreen Breast Milk Alcohol Test Kit?

No.

Once you dip a test strip in any milk it’s done.

How we determined you can’t reuse a Milkscreen Breast Milk Alcohol Test Kit

Milkscreen breast alcohol test kits
top – used on clean milk, then used on alcoholic milk. Bottom new and used on alcoholic milk

Test 1: Clean breast milk. The test was then dried out in the air. No change visible to the test strip.

Test 2: Later that day three margaritas, two beers, and intoxicated. Milk pumped. Cinco de Mayo.

No change visible to the previously used test kit placed in the clearly alcoholic breast milk.

Opened a new kit, tested the same milk, new kit clearly indicates alcohol in the breast milk.

Determination

Once the very small test area of the test strip, which can handle approximately one drop for each two-dollar strip, has been wet, it’s never good again.

Even pouring beer on the used test strip did nothing to change the color of the strip. It’s completely useless after first non-alcoholic test.

Cost of test ~$5 + booze.

Notes

You’re paying about $15.62 for about 1 total square centimeter of test equipment. It’s absurdly overpriced. Save the money and just don’t pump while buzzed or thinking you’re drunk.

Remember breast milk will filter out alcohol as you sober up, and pumping and dumping keeps you drunk longer and costs more biological energy to produce milk, so if you can keep the milk on deck ’til you’re sure you’re sober, do that unless you read somewhere else that I’m wrong on this.

Also you produce less milk while drinking, so if you’re low on supply, just keep it locked away if it’s not hurting.

The Milkscreen Breast Milk Alcohol Test Kit is available from Amazon for $15.62. You can also locate them at Target and some other stores. It’s not worth worrying about in my opinion, but yours may vary.
